A Hall with History
Puahue Community Hall has been a cornerstone of the district for many decades, bringing local residents, families, and organisations together.
Originally built in the 1930s a few kilometres east of its current site, the hall was shifted by locals in 1986 to sit alongside Puahue School — ensuring it remained a convenient and vibrant hub for the community.
Over the years, the hall has hosted everything from school functions, local meetings, and weddings to farm discussion groups, BBQs, concerts, and social events.
In recent years, it has also undergone a major refurbishment, restoring its original charm while adding modern amenities to better serve the community.
Community Spirit Keeping It Alive
Unlike many halls that have been closed, Puahue Community Hall is still thriving thanks to the commitment of local residents.
Puahue Community Hall isn’t funded by rates — instead, we rely on hire fees, donations, volunteers, and the long-running Puahue Stock Scheme. Local families and school students also pitch in with upkeep, from gardening to events.
As the community grows, ongoing upgrades and improvements ensure the hall remains safe, welcoming, and ready for future generations.

Spacious Main Hall
Spacious main hall with polished wooden floors - perfect for events, classes or large gatherings. Has fire safety capacity for up to 250 persons.
Fully Equipped Kitchen
Fully equipped kitchen including 2 ovens, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and ample bench space. Excellent internal and external access for catering.
Stage Area
Stage area suitable for performances, speeches or presentations.
Trestle Tables
Trestle tables and chairs are available, for external hire also.
Modern Bathroom Facilities
Modern bathroom facilities including a shower - with convenient external access.
On-site Parking
On-site parking with large sealed carpark, outdoor lighting and easy entry from the road.
